Smart Wall-mounted Heater WH517S

We have an outside doorway with windows nearby and during the cold winter months, especially when the wind is blowing, this section of our house is a few degrees cooler than the rest.of our house. This area is also close to our kitchen table, so our meals are eaten here. Well now with this heater, our winter meals will be more comfortable, as this will be a warmer part of our home, as opposed to having been quite chilly up until now.

The heater fits nicely below one of these windows, and with the slim design it offers is barely noticeable. And the remote makes control easy. The included level/template made installation possible in just a few minutes without any curves. I always appreciate installations that don't incur any surprises! Fortunately we had an electrical recepticle less than 2 feet away, which the cord easily reached. I was pleased to see that only two holes were necessary to be drilled in our drywall too.

I do realize that electric heaters running on 110 do cost a little more to operate, yet with this being a single unit in a small area of our house, the benefit will far outweigh this cost. This is why I recommend this comforting space heater.

The installation is as easy as using the cardboard template and included built in level to hang it up and then plug in.

It’s quiet- very quiet!
It’s modern, sleek design takes up very little space and doesn’t look like an outdated space heater.

The room we finished in downstairs needed a secondary heat source because it doesn’t get much air flow from the main unit but I didn’t want to run a gas line for a heater or have a bulky electric heater taking up space.
This product was the perfect solution!
I’m debating which wall to mount it on once the trim is painted but because it’s so versatile I have several options.
To test it out, I allowed it to run for about 20 minutes because it’s a cloudy cooler day/ it got warm in that room quick!
The real test will be this winter but so far it performs much better than I was expecting.
All the temperature settings and timers work from the remote and also have buttons on the unit.
It’s Alexa compatible but I dont intend to use that function. I needed this space heater to do exactly what it’s doing- heating a room well that was downstairs and gets cold in winter. I’m so glad I found this heater! Saved me from having my husband run some more duct work or a gas line for heat.

Dreo is really starting to impress me with the brand and their products. I already have a Dreo tower fan which has been fantastic so I already have the DREO app installed as well as the skill enabled in Alexa. Dont judge, but it is great for me to check temps in another room and turn on/off the heater or fan. As soon as I turned this on, my Dreo app found and installed the heater, then Alexa immediately found it as well. Then using voice commands I could turn on and off the heater as well as check the temp or set the temp. That is really my biggest thing, for example my shower is down a couple flights of stairs and it gets cold in there. I simply can ask the temp in the bathroom and then turn on the heater to warm up the room before I take a shower. This is a 1500 watt heater so depending on what else you have plugged in to that circuit, you could pop a breaker. I didnt, im just saying its a powerful heater and you need to be aware. I just know in my house if I put two space heaters on the same circuit it will pop the breaker. The front controls are fairly easy to understand and if you hit the hamburger icon you can change the display. The power button is labeled well. The front display is nice and I was surprised how quiet it is. Great product. great Brand and great Alexa integration

Works great. Very quiet. The thermostat seems to work very well which is a huge plus. Looks very good as well. Love the remote when laying in bed. Just hope it last!

The use case - try to get comfortable in my window office where Facilities keeps the AC on Arctic Maximum.

So in true rebel fashion, I'm going around Facilities and installed this thing. Gotta say, it's works darned well. The office is 150 sq ft which really is no sweat for this heater. And of course, this is intended for indoor use. Outdoor will be a stretch but theoretically possible for certain climes.

A note though - this is really designed to be wall mounted, and therein lies a bit of an issue. Mounting it is easy, but know there's going to be an exposed power cord unless you want to snake it through a wall to an outlet. And honestly, you can go Full Nerd and cut off the plug end to hardwire into an outlet if you're so inclined. Me, I'll just live with adjusting placement to be near an outlet and use a cord hide to keep it looking as clean as I can. The cord length does allow for decent flexibility of placement, but is a little thick (as it should be) for a lot of physical flexibility for snaking it around corners and such.

Appreciated are the fan/heating modes to tailor the temperature to the space.

The air intakes are in the back, which is pretty standard. There's enough space there to allow for good airflow into the unit. It also provides space for the power cord to be mounted to the rear. This all said, there's no law that says it has to be directly mounted to a wall. Honestly you could likely set it on a floating shelf and get about the same effect.

For sheer performance, I love it. Installation options require some compromise but given the intended use cases for this those compromises aren't deal breakers.
